Fluid Transportation Mechanic

As a Fluid Transportation Mechanic, you play a pivotal role in maintaining the transportation fleet to ensure the safety and protection of our employees, clients, and the general public. There is pride and a sense of accomplishment in keeping an entire fleet up and always running safely.

Now that you’re hired, here’s what you need to know: You’ll be maintaining equipment operation by completing inspections, doing preventative maintenance, conducting inspections, and keeping records. Every day, you will review pre- and post-trip reports, and manage repairs based on those reports, working to make sure our drivers get on the road on time and safely.

Following safety guidelines is one of the most important parts of your job. You’ll also be communicating with management about repair progress. You must keep your workspace clean and safe, including your equipment, and you must also maintain inventory.

Finally, you’ll control the costs of repairs by using warranties and evaluating vendors.

Our expectations: You’re expected to be in the yard before driver pre-trip inspections to be on hand to manage repairs before drivers leave the yard. Since you will be working on an entire fleet of vehicles, you will be very busy.  At times you may even be “on-call” to handle emergency call-outs. You will have the opportunity to work on light-duty trucks, tractor trucks, and everything in between.  You must provide your own hand tools.
